Frequently Asked Questions
How are teams formed?
All of our leagues go through a draft process and kids are selected by team managers.
Travel players participating in Little League will be evenly dispersed throughout the
teams.
What league should I register for?
This is a decision made by the parents/players to determine which league you would
like to participate in as overlapping eligibility exists. Below are two brackets to
determine eligibility. Once selected for a league, you cannot change leagues in the
middle of the season.
How are the tournament teams selected?
Tournament teams will be selected via a voting process amongst the eligible
participants from the teams that participated during the in-house season. Votes will be
solicited from players, coaches and a committee of board members with the largest %
impact being from players.
Eligibility for the tournament team is through participation in a minimum of 8 regular
season games.
What are the additional costs if my child is selected for the tournament?
Tournament participation costs for the trial year (2026) will be covered by GBA. Travel
expenses are the responsibility of each individual family.
Do all tournaments have a world series at Williamsport, PA?
No, only the major division (age 10-12) culminates in a world series at Williamsport.
The minor division (age 8-10) ends in a state tournament hosted outside Chicago. And
the junior division (age 12-14) ends with a world series tournament hosted at Taylor, MI.

What bat restrictions are there?
Little League requires a USABat stamp on bats. This is unlike historical GBA standards
which utilized USSSA standards. NOTE: if you go to sporting goods stores, there are
generally 2 sections of bats; USABat and USSSA bats.
USABat standards are built to mimic wood bat velocities for safety in kids’ sports.
Each team for our trial season (2026) will be issued one USABat to be used by the
team.
How far will I have to travel to play in house games?
A minimum of 12 games are to be played in the regular season against fellow Geneva
teams and surrounding Little League towns.
The number of “away” games will depend on how many Geneva teams are fielded at
each level, but we intend to play each local team at least once (possibly twice) and
make up the remaining with nearby Little League sanction townships to include (South
Elgin, Bartlett, Elgin, Naperville, etc) alternating home and away.
