Fall Baseball Update
Posted on: 07-30-2009

We have had some delays in finalizing teams.  Some leagues went over and we needed to search for additional managers.   We hope to have the rosters and practice schedules out by Friday afternoon.

The registration for Fall Baseball will remain open for each league as long as spots are still open.  Just click on the Registration Button on the main webpage or this link (http://www.genevabaseball.com/returning.php).

Once they fill up you can email Sue King to get on a wait list at msueking@mac.com

Geneva Baseball Association  and Batavia Youth Baseball will once again be providing a Fall Baseball League to their Members.

One of the biggest changes we are looking at is the introduction of a Rookie-7 league to help prepare those players for Minor 8 next year.

We also tweaked the team formation rules to help balance out teams more.

For the first two weeks of the season, games will be played on weekend and weekdays.  After that, games will only be played on the weekends.  Game times on the weekends will start at noon to help accomodate other activities.

The ages for each league are as follows (based on age as of July 31, 2009 for GBA or Aug 31st, 2009 for BYB):

Rookie: 5 & 6 years of age – 12 games scheduled depending on weather

Rookie 7 (Intro to kid pitch): 7 years of age - 12 games - no tournament

Minor: 8 & 9 years of age – 12 games plus seeded tournament depending on weather

Major: 10 & 11 years of age – 12 games plus seeded tournament depending on weather

Pony: 12 & 13 years of age – 12 games plus seeded tournament depending on weather

Players can play either with their age or grade. All of this years Fall league’s provide a developmental path for next years spring league.

Fall Manager and Coach registration is also open.  Please register using this link:

Please review the listed team formation rules.

A draft copy of the 2009 Fall Rules has been posted in the website's documents area.  The finalized rules should be posted soon.
